Customs and Border Protection (CBP) – W. Arizona Land Mobile Radio Upgrade Program

ITL was a teammate and subcontractor to AT&T Government Solutions on this program. The objective of this project was to enhance the wireless coverage of existing LMR Project 25 (P-25) system for CBP and the U.S. Border Patrol in the Tucson and Yuma Sectors in Western Arizona. ITL’s scope of work involved accessing remote, mountain top, helicopter access only sites where existing P-25 equipment needed to be installed that included Cobre, Buck Peak, and Granite Mountain. Additionally, site enhancements were necessary at the Camp Grip, Montana, and Telegraph Pass sites to support the backhaul connectivity for the above mentioned new build sites. With the exception of Camp Grip, all of these sites are remote, mountain top locations only accessible by Helicopter. ITL performed the engineering analysis, design procurement, and installation of the civil infrastructure (LMR tower/mast, equipment enclosure, and Antenna installation) for these sites. ITL also designed the solar power system for Buck, Granite Mountain, Cobre, and optional site Christmas Pass. ITL developed the logistical solution for the effort and packaged and shipped equipment from the staging facility to the helicopter staging area for installation based on the project schedule. ITL maintained ruggedized equipment for transport of the site equipment to the final installation location (if accessible by vehicle) or the helicopter staging area for installation on each Mountaintop.
